The statement by Bob Summerwill ensures that several decisions that have to be made around ETC are not to be influenced by things that can be easily thrashed as a myth.
Subjective personal beliefs do not matter. Some things need to be decided purely based on the scientific measurement and solid facts.
The Philosophy and Ethos of Ethereum Classic are “Immutable, Decentralized, Unstoppable.” Ethereum Classic inherited its implementation decisions from Ethereum Project. There are alternate opinions from participants because some of them believe that it is not acceptable to be moving a hard fork with flaws to the main net. A further forking to fix the flaws in a previous fork is even unacceptable. They feel it is against the ETC ethos of move slow but do not break the things philosophy.
A solution proposed in this regard is add a parallel fork as opposed to cancelling Aztlán per se. They are looking to nickname “Phoenix,” which is likely to happen at the same time — thus solving the flaw and the double-hard-fork problem. The agenda is released, and other possible outcomes have also got proposed.
