Denelle Dixon retweeted:  “Care about #netneutrality? Want to fix the mess the FCC made when it rolled back open internet policies? Time to speak up. The FCC is asking for public comment on net neutrality matters; the court said it got wrong. This is our shot. Let’s do this.”

Net Neutrality requires that the Internet Service Providers (ISPs) should treat all internet-related communications equally without discrimination, not charging based on user, content, website, platform, application, type of equipment, source address, a destination address, or method of communication. A lot of focuses on net Neutrality has been happening in the United States.

Sydney Ifergan, the Crypto Expert, tweeted:  “Obama recommended FCC to preserve net Neutrality. Denelle Dixon of Stellar Lumens (XLM) retweeted on Net Neutrality because it does affect people who buy and sell crypto.”

Cryptocurrency is decentralized; however, people buy and sell crypto using exchanges, which are hosted by internet service providers.  When as ISP owned by a conglomerate decides to go with a transaction, then they can without net neutrality charge users extra and bring down speeds to bias access exchanges in a way to create competition with their own ISPs. This will affect the speeds of coin exchange and also the end trading value.  Not a good thing.

Stellar Lumens (XLM) – New Website – Horizon Release

Stellar Lumens (XLM) has a new website.  They have made a new release.

Stellar Tweeted:  “Today marks a new milestone in Horizon’s development: today we’re introducing Horizon 1.0, the first major Horizon release!”

This is a notable milestone because Horizon, an HTTP API server, will make it earlier for people to interact with the Stellar network without having to worry about lower-level details. Multiple endpoints which are optimized are exposed, helping do things like:

  • Submitting a transaction
  • Reading information about the existing state of the ledger
  • Exploring historical data

The publication states, “Horizon sits between a product or service built on Stellar (wallet, asset issuer, payment provider) and a Stellar Core node. “

The Horizon Update is a significant release, and it matters a lot because it facilitates a lot of significant advantages when compared to the old ingestion system.  It is very consistent and very developer-friendly. It permits user configuration, and it does not overtax the Stellar Core.  They are eventually planning to move over to it completely.

A lot of refinement and road testing is required. An alpha and beta testing will then follow it.
