Blockdown 2020 gave a reflective intro to Jed McCaleb, Co-Founder and Architect at the Stellar Development Foundation created Stellar Network as an open-source blockchain in 2014.
Further stated, Stellar Lumens was basically built to democratize economic participation by making money more fluid, markets more open, and people more empowered. An early pioneer in decentralized systems in blockchain technology, he created e-donkey 2000, known as ed2K, which became one of the largest file-sharing networks in its time.
Jed McCaleb later created Mt. Gox, the first Bitcoin Exchange. He is also co-founder of Ripple. He has devoted his career to developing and leveraging technology that promotes inclusion and transparency. Put your virtual hands together for Jed McCaleb.
When questioned about how the current situation, though tragic, contributes to cryptocurrency shining, Jed McCaleb stated that the situation does push a little more awareness about the crypto among the general public.
He stated that it creates an impression may be like the fiat money is less sound that people he stated kind of take for granted. He, however, stated that he thinks that crypto really needs an easier way to be of use to the people.
He differentiated between the user experience issue and the technology issue. In general, he stated that he thought that crypto really needs a way to be easier to use for people out there in the world. I think that is the big thing and it is not so much awareness. I really think it is not going to take off into people don’t even realize that they are using it. It just kind of becomes an easy way to do things or the better way to do things, and all of that is more like a user experience issue rather than like a technology issue.
Stellar is well aware that there is not enough awareness and that people kind of don’t know they are using it, nor do they realize that they are using it. They are spending a lot of time working on those things – not about the core technology, but beyond where people realize it to be the more natural way to do things and a better way to do things.
Several thought-provoking questions are doing the rounds in the Stellar Network, making the community of developers think and propel towards introducing new perspectives and solutions based on user experience and community requirement.
