zcash ZEC Z-addresses

There is no more than 21M Zcash.  The Electric Coin Company recently expressed that no one is able to determine how much a Zcash shielded address holds, nor are they able to see the sender, receiver transaction amount or the contents of the memo field in a fully shielded Zcash transaction.

In response, Justin Ehrenhofer told about how Elliptic, the blockchain analysis company have stated that the funds which have touched the Z-address will be marked as higher risk. Ehrenhofer stated, how that was understandable from compliance perspective, but not a fun thing for users.

When asked about what are the other reasons for not using the Z-addresses, Justin Ehrenhofer stated, “1. No exchange support 2. Limited wallet support 3. Limited multisig support 4. Compliance concerns 5. Not compatible with staking (soon) 6. Not compatible with DeFi (soon).” Further clarified that this not in any way a comprehensive list.

While some of the investors stated that this was a misleading information from Elliptic. Reasons like the money coming from the Mixer are also being contemplated. Ehrenhofer stated that if it is truly misleading and inaccurate he might choose to apologize.

However, there was a recent update about the next major Zcash Network Upgrade, and in this regard, the Electric Coin Company tweeted:  “Here’s a reminder that Heartwood, the next major #Zcash network upgrade (NU3), will activate this month (mid-July) at block 903,000. It includes Flyclient support and gives miners the option to immediately shield mining rewards in Coinbase transactions.”

Sydney Ifergan, the crypto expert tweeted:  “False allegations are here to stay.  However, it is good to see Zcash (ZEC) delivering the best to ensure privacy for their investor interest.”

One of the cryptography specialist expressed how she was sitting like a fool designing cryptography to resistant attacks by the quantum computers, when the government is proposing to outlaw cryptography.

However, one of the commentators responded, they might try to do this, but I suspect it would be struck down as unconstitutional. They clarified on how software is speech. And on how Crypto has been legally defined as a weapon for arms treaties. The commentator concluded stating, whether you think the first or the second amendment is more important, either way crypto is protected
