Algorand (ALGO) By Blockchain Technology on the Gaming Industry and the Right to Be Forgotten

algorand Algo Gaming blockchain

Algorand has been particularly attractive to game developers who are looking for a network to build on to cater to the speed and scale, which the gaming community are expecting to have.

The gaming industry has been ahead in the curve when it comes to innovation, and the process of adopting new technologies, particularly when it comes to adopting virtual reality, artificial intelligence and augmented reality.

Reportedly, more than 5 million chess games are played online. According to Algorand, this is just the tip of the ice-berg according.  There are several benefits facilitated by Algorand’s blockchain in terms of scalability, which is very important for the gaming industry. The ability to provide for the creation of non-fungible tokens, improving network speed, facilitating finality, and therefore contributing to new gaming possibilities, new monetization models, and the ability to help in the expansion of market opportunities for players and publishers.

Algorand considers their partnership with BGA as an opportunity to increase awareness among the community about blockchain technology and to further adoption.  Thus, fostering new ways to build communities around gaming.

Sydney Ifergan, the crypto expert tweeted:  “The gaming industry tends to attract a loyal user base for as long as the games are attractive.  Algorand (ALGO) well knew this and they are in to the gaming industry.”

Reportedly, gaming industry will be able to gain more credibility when trust is established between all the industry participants.

Algorand (ALGO) on the Right to be Forgotten

Silvio Micali, Founder of Algorand tweeted:  The ‘right to be forgotten’ is a fundamental human right. Here, I share @Algorand’s approach to the RTBF and what RTBF compliance should mean for a truly decentralized and permissionless blockchain.”

The entire focus is on the Article 17 of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation, which establishes the right to erasure of personal data (‘right to be forgotten’, RTBF).

The RTBF applies only to personal data; however, the RTBF does not give the data subject an absolute right to erase her data anytime they want.  Also, RTBF does not apply to non-personal data.  It really does not guarantee privacy. Some information are protected contractually and some data like those the applicants give during a mortgage are consensually given.

Their focus is on the personal data which after having been made available for whatever be the reason for which they were provided, should be permitted to be deleted irrespective of how, why, and by whom the erasure is requested.

Particularly, their focus is on the RTBF compliance for truly decentralized, permissionless blockchains in general, and for Algorand blockchain in particular.
