Stellar 3 Million Award win

Stellar Community Fund (SCF) today, July 20th, started fifth nomination process for the members of the community members to vote stellar-based projects they believe deserve a share of 3million XLM awards. This is in a bid to fulfil its vision of supporting the stellar ecosystem with the unbiased voice of the community.

About the Event

The fifth round started May 25th where participants submitted their proposals on galactictalk.org. The community members are allowed to nominate three to eight projects within the space of two weeks. Members of the community can log in to the SCF website with their Keybase account to nominate their favourites. Eight winning projects will move to a final voting round which will start on August 3 to determine which projects are community’s top three favourites. The award will be shared in the proportion of votes gotten from the final community voting round between the eight. Some of the projects opened for nominations for the fifth community fund are Stellarmint, Interstellar, Trybal.network, Opensolar, Answerly, etc. Few Stellar-based projects that have benefited from this program in the past are Stellar Tip, Stellot, SendIt, etc. from the fourth round.

SCF and the Community

The event includes a discussion phase after participants submit their projects for nominations, where the community learns more about the projects they will soon vote for. The discussion phase allows members of the community to ask questions and give suggestions to participants as they get to know more about more use cases of the Stellar Protocol. The Stellar Community Fund has wisely course out a way to support Stellar blockchain projects while educating and engaging the community.

SCF and Developers

The SCF has laid a foundation to attract developers to build innovative projects on the Stellar Protocol since funding is a great hurdle for developers. The Stellar Protocol is known to be developer-friendly as it offers easy tools for them to create cutting-edge solutions. The event will not only attract developers but teach them the value of having a community which understands their vision and can adequately support them. The event is done at a 3-month interval to reward eight projects, in no time more projects will receive community funding, visibility, and support.

The blockchain technology is worth revealing to the world, SCF is making its own impact on the world via the projects it funds for wider adoption.
