On Thursday, August 13, 2020, 3pm UTC, 60 minutes max there is an ETC Core Devs Call. The call will be for Treasury Roadmap Discussions.
The Proposed Agenda for the Discussion: “1. Quick client teams check-in: Core-Geth – ETC Labs; Mantis – IOHK; Hyperledger Besu – ETC Coop/ChainSafe; 2. IOHK Proposal for an Ethereum Classic Treasury; 3. Gather Community feedback on Proposal via Q&A. 4. Measure Rough Consensus to determine if IOHK will move forward with making an ECIP for the ETC Treasury.”
The call will be at Ethereum Classic Discord https://discord.gg/dwxb6nf #ecips channel. It has been stated that they will use/create a voice channel ad hoc.
Yazzy Yaz when commenting in this regard stated, “This is a call only about the treasury roadmap. Any proposals for dealing with 51% attacks have to be on a separate call. Any questions related to the treasury can be asked here and I will ask them in the call if needed.”
Of note, a rough Roadmap has been introduced by Charles Hoskinson from IOHK. This discussion is open and the decision time frame is provided for until August 14, 2020.
Giulio Pezzulli, Cofounder and developer of AITutor opined, “Really hope you go for IOHK, especially after watching Charles proposed solution video. Could be a fantastic roadmap for ETC.”
Sydney Ifergan, the crypto expert in this regard tweeted: “Will Ethereum Classic take the roadmap for ETC from Charles Hoskinson. Will Bob Summerwill Agree?”
in 2019 there was expressed a broad consensus that changing the block rewards to add treasury model is unacceptable. This runs counter to ETC philosophy and principles and should be rejected. (source: https://github.com/ethereumclassic/ECIPs/pull/229)
Many of them are looking for clarity on what event changed this consensus and at what point in time? They also pointed to how they have been discussing something that is already rejected dozen of times proposal
again?
