Equinox v1.5.0 is focused on providing improved Skynet performance. With Equinox, Skynet nodes will be able to support as much as 100X users. Developers will be able to monetize on the application which is built on Sia and Skynet. Equinox is made available for download for users and it is set to be the fastest and most efficient version yet.
Of note, substantial parts of the Sia ecosystem have been built by third-party developers and it is important for the developers to be rewarded monetarily for adding value. Developers in Sia will now be able to comfortably monetize the third party app built on Sia and Skynet.
Notably, “The feemanager allows applications built on top of Sia to charge the Sia user a fee. The feemanager’s API endpoints expose methods for viewing information about the feemanager and for adding and canceling fees.” Nebulous takes 30% cut from all the fees paid to application developers.
In this regard, Sydney Ifergan, the crypto expert tweeted: “Developers are those who keep the SiaCoin (SC) Network or any network alive. And, for that reason they need to be incentivized.”
The new fee manager endpoint increases the focus at Nebulous to drive value from the Sia ecosystem.
Anyone who will add value to the Sia ecosystem, will be rewarded and this is one of the first in the many steps that SiaCoin will be taking to ensure sustainability of Sia’s contributors and to have them liven the network for long term.
The release of SkyNet has contributed in a great way to publish and share data. Further, this led to the coming of Skynet Apps also known as SKapps. There more than 100+ third party SKapps in SkyNet. Skynet is powered by the Sia technology.
Developers are working on the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Protocol as it is considered not sufficient to provide for high performance standards. Developers are now beginning to design and build a new RPC stack from scratch.
The new protocol is known as SkyRocket consisting of SiaMux, Ephemeral Accounts, and Merklized Data Machine. SiaMux provides for performance without compromise. There are more than 3500 to 4000 new lines of testing code to provide for the highest possible reliability.
Reportedly, all of these improvements have been worked on by developers and engineers at Nebulous for over a year.
Sia is already well established in providing for decentralized crypto storage, low cost cloud storage, encryption, and distribution.
