Zcash Foundation tweeted about the August 18, 2020 community call which will be a Q&A session set to discuss the structure and process of the Major Grants Review Committee.  Those who are interested will have to sign up.  The call is organized by Andrew Miller @socrates1024.

Of note, the video call will not be live streamed, but it will be recorded and published on the Zcash Foundation’s YouTube channel. Further it has been stated, “You are welcome obscure your face or restrict your broadcast to audio.”

Recently, The ZCash Foundation bid farewell to their first executive director. 

Josh Cincinnati, Zcash Foundation’s inaugural Executive Director, resigned recently after his 3-year-old tenure. Though the community expressed that they missed him, he is excited about this future endeavors inside and outside the community.  Someone is soon set to be in his shoes. Until someone fills the space, the ZF board is expected to guide the activities uninterrupted.

Of note, Josh had a major role to play in building the organization from ground up.  He did a lot to ensure the Zcash expanded to meaningful decentralization.

Sydney Ifergan, the crypto expert tweeted:  “There is lot of room for cryptocurrency to grow, whether for Zcash or any others, we need to keep moving in the direction of growth.”

ZCash (ZEC) Directing Development Fund Worth in Millions

The community call is set to bring in more news about the MGRC, voting process, the responsibilities and lot more.

Candidates who are running for the MGRC positions are beginning to introduce and propose themselves.  This is important because the panel will direct a development fund worth in tens of millions of dollars for the next 4 years.

The Electric Coin Company recently expressed that about 8% of the total block reward (about 35% of the new dev fund) will go into a grant program that will exclusively fund independent third-party developers.

Of note Zooko tweeted, Cryptocurrency starting to sprout up through the cracks in India, and Zcash is a part of it.  Also expressed, The Zcash Major Grants Review Committee: potentially about much more than reviewing grants! So both the “Grants” and “Review” words in its name might need well review.  The “Zcash”, “Major”, and “Committee” parts are accurate though.

It cannot be missed that India is an important market in the coming decade, but the regulatory stance for crypto in India is quite uncertain.

Zooko also recalled on how decentralized, voluntary cooperation has been the basis of every prosperous, long-lived, orderly civilization in human history up until around 2005 or so. Perhaps Zcash are continuing to do what works.
