David Vorick recently stated, I say this every hackathon, but I’m really impressed with the projects our community produced in the OwnTheInternet hackathon that we co-hosted with Namebase.

He pointed to a URL consisting of the highlights of the event. The Hackathon is now over and those who are willing to get a knowhow of what happened at the event my want to go to the URL and check the details given under combined prize winners, Skynet-only winners, and Namebase only winners.

Reportedly, they have published the future features of the Skynet and Handshake which states, “One thing that we are aiming to support in the next few months is decentralized updates to Handshake. We are working on an extension to the Skynet SDK that will allow users to update their handshake names without needing to call out to the Namebase API, ensuring that developers can easily build fully featured applications such as Wakio while also being 100% decentralized. The ETA for this feature is currently 1-2 months.”

David Vorick also pointed to how Uniswap is now available on Skynet. He also stated that the handshake integration means you no longer need to pass around unfriendly hashes as links.

One of the commentators expressed their excitement by stating, Wow, with the advent of Skynet, content is not referenced by Central server/IP address, So Powerful! Skynet content/website has permanent address (hash) and is accessible from any Skynet portal without centralized IP/host. Amazing new Internet!

When taking about aRunner up stated: Wayback by @centoshi, a project that implements the @waybackmachine with Skynet and @HNS for archiving pieces of the Internet on Skynet. This is a crucial piece for a robust Internet!

Also pointed to SkyBlog Builder and stated that it was an impressive blogging platform. Clarified stating “It has the best balance of design, technicals and usability. Especially impressive coming from someone who was being exposed to blockchain for the first time.”

Sia also pointed to how Web3 is going to take over the centralized world when applications are as easy and as user friendly as their centralized counterparts, and stated that Wakio did a great job in this regard.

The participants were twice as excited and felt great about the encouragements they received.
