Tezos (XTZ) Readily Competing With Improved Standardization and Experience on Blockchain

Tezos XTZ

Tezos Developers have been doing a lot in terms of adopting and testing smart contracts based on token standards like FA1.2 (TZIP-7) and FA2 (TZIP-12). With increasing numbers of contracts getting deployed, the importance of indexing and discoverability improved to a great extent.  Further, the wallet integrators are looking at methods to support tokens and contracts.

TQ Tezos tweeted:  “Check out our latest post introducing Contract Metadata (TZIP-16), which makes integration, discoverability and querying of Tezos smart contracts easier and scalable for applications and wallets.”

Recently, there was an introduction made to TZIP-16, which is a standard for accessing contract metadata in JSON format, which is the on-chain storage or off-chain using IPFS or HTTP(S).

The focus of TZIP-16 is to provide for a standardized location and shape of contract metadata, thus easing up integration, discoverability and querying of Tezos smart contracts meant for applications, explorers, and wallets. Therefore, developers will be able to focus more on product development and less on questions like how to integrate with wallets and external parties.

To improve the experience, they have introduced TZ Comet, which is still-in-development editor, validator, and explorer for the contract metadata on Tezos.

They have also created a merge request to provide sub-commands to display and make use of contract metadata in the Tezos-client per the applicable standard.

TQ Tezos expressed their special thanks to, TZIP-16 reviewers: “Baking Bad, Kukai, Spruce, SmartPy, Marigold/LIGO, Tezos Domains, Arthur Breitman, ECAD Labs, Serokell, Cryptonomic, Nomadic Labs, and Archetype for feedback on TZIP-16!”

Sydney Ifergan, the crypto expert tweeted:  “The world of cryptocurrency and blockchain seem to require development forever to keep up with competition. I see Tezos (XTZ) readily competing.”

Tezos (XTZ) Dexter is live

Tezos retweeted:  “We have been working on a decentralized exchange for Tezos for just over a year, and it has been a great journey. The day has finally come.  Dexter is live!”

At the launch, tzBTC and USDtz are the two FA1.2 tokens which are available to trade on Dexter. The smart contracts are deployed for tzBTC and USDtz. More are on the way.

Reportedly, staker DAO’s BLND token is expected to be available on Tezos in a few months.  There are also other projects in the working to bring in more assets to Tezos in the near future.

For those who are new to Dexter, it is a non-custodial decentralized exchange. Particularly, it is a constant product automated market maker, a lot similar to Uniswap. Those who want to know more need to check the documentation.
