Bitcoin Cash (BCH) Upgrade Fast Approaching November 15, 2020 Avoid Block Reorganization

Bitcoin Cash BCH Upgrade

Bitcoin Cash is hailed to be the money that is built for real people and not for the banks.  It is used to pay people fast and to send money abroad literally for free.  There are no middlemen controlling the funds.

Bitcoin Cash Network is set to undergo an upgrade in nearly a little more than a month.  And, users need to ensure that they are preparing the business well for a successful network upgrade.  Miners, exchanges, and other businesses are to ensure that the next Bitcoin Cash network upgrade will be smooth.

Bitcoin cash are forever making sure that the businesses know the facts.  Therefore, they are creating the simple guide to help the users to cut through the noise to make an informed decision about how best users can prepare for the network upgrade.

The next upgrade for Bitcoin Cash is scheduled for November 15, 2020.  The Bitcoin ABC is continuing to be fully compatible with the Bitcoin Cash Protocol. Also, the alternative nodes are set to become BCH incompatible.

During the upgrade, users should ensure that they are running fully compatible nodes before the network upgrade can happen.  To run a fully compatible node software users should be deploying and downloading Bitcoin ABC 0.22.0 or advanced versions.  It is important to do this to protect the chain from a wipe out.  If a split should happen, then those who have upgraded are kept on a chain that has reliable funding.

With the blocks getting reorganized, there is likely to be transaction uncertainty therefore upgrading is crucial.

While this seems to be a general belief reportedly there are contradictory opinions which state that BCHN has around 80% in favor while ABC has 0% in favor.

Sydney Ifergan, the crypto expert tweeted:  “Bitcoin Cash (BCH) Upgrade is due and it makes sense for users to not experiment with different software for node implementation. Good to use what is recommended.”

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) Upgrade Software

In the process of upgrading Bitcoin ABC are assuring that the process will be smooth with their software.  The profits are thus preserved.  It is important to understand terms like orphaned blocks, and chain wipeout.

Orphaned blocks will lose 100% of their revenue if miners are not running Bitcoin ABC. And, no new chain will form.

Chain Wipe Out will happen when a majority of the software will run an alternative software and a new chain is formed.  Thus, those who run BCHN or other BCH-incompatible software will have their chains erased.

Bitcoin Cash strongly recommend not to use alternative node implementation software unless they make use of replay protection of other measures, which will prevent block reorganization.  It is not worth risking transactions disappearing.  Businesses will only benefit from a property maintained network. For all practical reasons BCH is getting worked out to be a sound money for the world.

However, the internal arguing by Roger Ver goes like, “The forcing of an IFP by ABC is looking likely to derail the amazing progress BCH has been making.”

The Bitcoin.com publication goes thus:  “Effective immediately, Bitcoin.com will run the following node implementation for all Bitcoin.com products that mine, utilize, or otherwise rely on Bitcoin Cash:

Furthermore, we strongly recommend that all individuals and organizations currently running Bitcoin Cash nodes also implement Bitcoin Cash Node (BCHN) v.22.0.0 or later for the following reasons:

  1. We have assessed that a majority of Bitcoin Cash miners will mine with BCHN nodes on or before November 15th, 2020
  2. BCHN does not attempt to implement the controversial feature known as “IFP” (read more about our view on IFP)
  3. BCHN will accept the chain with the longest proof-of-work, regardless of whether or not IFP is implemented.”
