Ethereum (ETH) Design Choices for 2.0 Why Proof of Stake and Sharding and More

Ethereum 2.0

Ryan Sean Adams in Designing Ethereum about his chat with Vitalik Buterin stated chatting with the founder of Ethereum on his design choices for a global financial network had a few things to say.

Ryan Sean Adams, crypto investor tweeted:  “Eth2 is coming But will it ship as advertised? That’s where we started this epic 2 hr long podcast w/ Vitalik Buterin.  We get to the heart and soul of Ethereum. What political views are embedded in it? Who even gets to decide? Huge episode.”

Episode #35 on October 19, 2020 in Designing Ethereum with Vitalik Buterin, the podcast was about the ‘why’ behind many of the design choices of Ethereum 2.0.  Why Proof of Stake? Why Sharding? The podcast also goes over what has been discovered and added between the 2015 launch of Ethereum 1.x and where we are now. Things like: EIP1559 and Rollups.  There was also a chat about Vitalik’s view on ‘rollup centric Ethereum’.

The process of getting Ethereum on-boarded into Ethereum 2.0 and a rollup round of questions towards the end was presented.  Those who are interested might want to know more from directly listening to the podcast.

Sydney Ifergan, the crypto expert tweeted:  “Ethereum (ETH) have worked and are continuing to work on many things.  People are just impatient because the process is boring, but it is interesting to hear about the exciting results soon.”

It is a lot more like coming up with new concepts and new tools, when investors are strained by new rules in the fintech sector.  It is not easy to guess all the challenges that are set to come.  It can only be handled as they come. Constraints of any kind lead to creativity. New challenges are coming and new methods are in place to help deal with it. And new decentralized finance products get built. Lot of interesting byproducts before the shipping of WTH 2.0 are expected.

Ethereum (ETH) 2.0 Transition

True believers in the Ethereum ecosystem are determined to stay.  They are willing to wait until the ETH evolves.  They are more than average investors.  They are waiting to see innovative solutions happen and eventually are willing to wait, unless they can unlock value.

Creating value in one chain and using it as a collateral in another chain is the current trend.  Collateral in DeFi lending markets is seen as a method to bring in liquidity from all the funds that are locked in different projects.

Several things are dependent on how well and how efficiently Ethereum developers progress toward the goal of a full integrated Ethereum 2.0 transition.
