On Mon Oct 19, 2020 the first ever ZKP and privacy summit co-organized by Dystopia Labs, Coda, Zcash, Starkware, Zcoin, BAF, and the Secret Network brought forth the latest research and innovations around zero-knowledge proofs, financial privacy, and more.  Like usual, the events were 100% free.

They have to state that their Speakers are wise, brilliant etc and that it is worth taking advantage to ask questions.  Riccardo Spagni participated in the event as the first speaker.  For those who missed it there is a recording available.

The recently scheduled Monero Network upgrade went smoothly.  It is now possible for users to enjoy the 20% cheaper, lighter, and faster to verify private by default transactions.

Seth Simmons expressed his excitement by stating, wow, the Monero community is incredible. A sincere thank you to the other 128 people that contributed to this — hopefully this will be the start of a big step forward for entering and exiting the Monero economy. 2727XMR in 3 days.

Excitement escalated as Seth Simmons stated, let’s get the last few Monero flowing so we can kick off this awesome next step towards decentralized atomic swaps of XMR! Can we get this to the highest ever contributor count before it’s funded?

Some users had to comment that the Network hardfork is working well. Further stated that they tried some XMR transactions with @GuardaWallet and it really was better than previous.

Sydney Ifergan, the crypto expert tweeted:  “The benefits of Privacy is huge. Monero (XMR) seems to know it well and they are making a huge step forward in sustaining privacy for their users with due upgrades.”

Matt Odell, privacy advocate tweeted:  “The same governments currently pushing for an encryption ban were caught conducting mass surveillance on every single person worldwide – including their own citizens – and nobody went to jail.”

When someone asked what is the best Monero Wallet the reply was that the main desktop wallet is great for most use cases, but I also love both @CakewalletXMR and @monerujowallet for mobile. Plus there’s the new Feather wallet that’s in development and pretty nice.

When someone tried to recap on the old Cipher Trace Announcement which claimed XMR can be tracked, Seth Simmons replied stating, No signs at this point that they have anything past the research already done and published by the Monero Research Lab. See this interview for an attempt to get more info, which really showed me they don’t have much to go off of.

Someone added to the confidence level of Monero privacy stating, Besides, even if regulators succeed in developing some traceability solutions, Monero is likely to fix the bugs, retaining privacy over the long run, according to one analyst. ‘Untraceable cryptocurrencies such as Monero are here to stay.’ “
