Decred (DCR) DAO Making Community Directed Superior Store of Value Possible

January 13, 2021 Off By dan saada

Decred (DCR) are adding support for the ETH and ERC20 tokens.  They are continuing to build in a massive way welcoming the ETH and ERC20 ecosystem.

Decred is the best SoV coin on the market providing a clear value proposition for the future with their team of best developers. Those who have invested already have to state that those who have not looked in to it should check in to what it can offer.

For clarity, Decred makes use of a hybrid proof of work and proof of stake system which layers security while carefully aligning incentives.  Thus, they are providing the best of both worlds.  Therefore, Decred network is expensive to attack than the proof of work or proof of stake.

Decred is adaptable because it has a built in governance system which empowers its community with the formal rights to make consensus changes while managing project level decisions.  Further, these systems also make Decred adaptable permitting it to evolve according to the will of the stake holders thus is able to resist forks while incorporating new technology in the long run.

The treasury of Decred gets funded with 10% of each block reward while employing a flexible contractor model which permits the contributors to get compensation for their work.  Therefore, Decred is sustainable and self-funded DAO.

Decred (DCR) Stakeholders in Power

There was a recent discussion about Decred and about how it is the end of macro investing and on how the governments will be able to succeed in the new digital economy paradigm. Decred have sound money principles. Since stakeholders are the centerpiece of power, they are able to achieve a balance of power.

It just looks like they are ready to take on the rest of the Altcoins and move ahead in the growth ladder.

While all these are happening some people who are new to Decred are taken aback by the fact that anyone can vote on code changes.  They also feel that someone should prove some kind of technical merits and expertise before voting on the actual code in the decred network.

The worry in this regard is that if some proposals which are inherently harmful to the network can get passed, this can be harm the network.  Some feel that the fancy ideas of giving the decision making power to people without power can prove harmful. May be with time we will come to know if allowing anyone to voting on code changes is healthy.
