There are several topics that are worth discussing happening in the Tezos Ecosystem.  Latest developments in the ecosystem are related to the development of higher level Decentralized Finance Applications.

The WRAP protocol and their vision in bringing a full-fledged and completely decentralized financial system on Tezos is the point of interest.  It is very obvious that the DeFi is becoming an important feature   in any smart contract platform.

With time, it will become important to transport all of these asset types.  These asset types can be monetary, hard assets, real estate, identity, securities and others.  The transportation of these asset types should become transparent and the networks will in turn begin doing these functions.  Ultimately, networks like Tezos will transport these assets.  There will be an inter-relationship developing based on the protocol token and the types of assets which move on the network. Someone compared it to the railroads of 1900 – thus making transportation of digital assets possible in the network.  The claim is that there are several networks who can provide the services provided by Tezos, but one who can provide a sensible governance with a good community and a feature rich blockchain technology they say is rare.

The DeFi building blocks on the Tezos Ecosystem consist of options, Insurance, Lending platforms, stable coins and synthetic assets, on-chain price oracles, wrapped assets, cross chain swaps, decentralized exchanges, token standards, and proof of stakes consensus layer and smart contract languages.

Tezos Ecosystem Inching Higher and Better

Some of the community members feel that Tezos could have done more with DeFi and that they have lot more to do.  Hopefully, developers are working to inch higher up in the roadmap.

A lot of things are happening in the Tezos Ecosystem.  They are approving the Delphi Upgrade, which facilitates a dramatic easing in terms of the gas consumption and thus lowering storage costs. 

Very importantly, Arthur Breitman, early architect at Tezos is set to be speaking about Tezos at the North American Bitcoin Conference on January 28, 2021 and January 29, 2021.

A lot of TezTalks from Tezos commons are happening, thus bringing together a variety of teams and individuals to focus on the latest developments in the Tezos Ecosystem. A lot of DeFi Virtual Talks are happening contributing to improved knowledge in terms of privacy and more details on upcoming projects. So, developers will surely put the newly acquired knowledge in to real possibility in new projects.
