And when it comes to the question of whether we are stressed over the market skepticism of TC after the hacks: We look at every attack in CHAOSNET as an improvement in the system. For each attack that occurs, the system is one step more prepared for the mainnet.

All of us who have invested in TC are in an early phase of an exciting project, and then mistakes are to be expected. We will probably encounter more exploits, but the market need for TC will not change.

Alex Simpson stated:  Thorchain is considering dropping ERC-20 tokens from the platform due to the recent exploits. I was curious about how essential ERC-20s are to the platform, so I ran the numbers. Like many, my opinion is ERC-20s should be temporarily paused until thoroughly tested.

ERC-20 tokens are essential but less so than they might appear. ERC-20s account for 35% of all liquidity on the platform. The most significant loss is $XRUNE, USDC, and USDT pools, the 2nd, 6th, and 8th largest pools, respectively.

Thor Ecosystem Ambience:  Someone asked:  How can a decentralized DEX be paused? THORChain executes business logic against observed inbound transactions. Pausing just adds a temporary delay against the execution of the outbound. THORChain is a live network settling swaps as fast as possible. But it can, and should, defend against attacks.

Many people don’t understand the difference between something like Uniswap, and Thorchain Uniswap (while it’s fantastic) isn’t really a living, breathing network. It’s a set of unstoppable smart contracts. Thorchain is it’s own blockchain, connecting other blockchains.
