David Vorick of Siacoin (SC) is Looking for Pokemon NFTs

Please Note: The Skynet network is big, and it might take up to 200ms to find and re-pin your file.

David Vorick, on August 26, 2021, expressed:  Toy engineering is when you build something for fun. True engineering is the grind to identify the thousands of edge cases and performance bottlenecks that impact your machine in the real world.

Centralized infrastructure strikes again. Siasky is now fully blocked by several popular adblockers. We’re working at full speed to get this resolved ASAP. The Internet was not built for decentralization.

Note that Skynet’s goals are philosophically aligned with adblockers – give users the best experience possible. Blocking all of Skynet is BAD for adblockers, because it means their users can’t access legitimate applications. We’re trying to find a solution where everyone wins.

You can’t be yourself when someone you don’t trust is watching you. And that’s why I don’t like Google. I don’t like Dropbox, or Android, or Amazon. Everything I do online is being watched by an entity that I fundamentally don’t trust. Pursue freedom. Pursue decentralization.

The promises of corporations are like smoke rings. Mesmerizing, tantalizing, and soon lost to the void, forgotten forever.

Vorick pointed to a statement:  The FBI has disclosed that agents from other investigations accessed Twitter, Facebook data in Virgil Griffith/North Korea crypto case because *default setting* in Palantir is to allow all FBI agents access to everything from all cases. That’s quite amazing.

On August 27, 2021: siasky.net is back off of easy list. Should start working on Brave and other adblock-native platforms as soon as they refresh their blocklists.

Javascript is really improving my appreciation of TDD. If you don’t test everything every 5 seconds, you’re going to spend 2 hours figuring out which line of code upset the beast.

Skynet-kernel development is really coming along. Today I finished cross-module communication in a way that I feel is robust and secure. Very happy with the result. The next big challenge is implementing module updates and module rollbacks.

Our recent Skynet upgrade to support a much greater range of applications and application frameworks is an important step towards our impending Homescreen release, as it means the majority of already-existing DeFi apps can migrate to Homescreen in 20 minutes or less of dev time.

I need Pokemon NFTs.

Community response:  A few days ago, I discovered Kryptomon. co. The idea is great, it is like a Tamagotchi with kryptomons (NFTs), but we have to see how it will evolve. In general, I think NFTs are the ideal application for a Pokemon app.

If you want Pokémon NFTs, then you’ll love Cryptomon.
