Sonic, the first DEX to launch on the Internet Computer, is now live.

DFinity Foundation expressed:  Sonic offers a suite of DeFi products for the Internet Computer blockchain, operating on a gasless AMM. Thus, DeFi on the IC has arrived.

It has been stated that with the Sonic Mainnet Launch, the wait is over for Defi on the Internet Computer – Zero Gas Fees – 1 second transaction finality and entirely on-chain.

Other happenings in the ICP ecosystem from the near past:

On January 18, 2021:  Canister smart contracts on the Internet Computer Blockchain exploded to over 28,000 in the past 7 days up 69%.  Developers are drilling away at DeFi, social media, games, etc as overall developer activity reaches a boiling point.
