Early this month, Ryan Taylor spoke about:  I’ve been beta testing the DashDirect instant savings app this weekend, and OMG are you all going to love this service. Here is a short thread about my experience today.

I needed a new battery for my car. Opened the DashDirect app to find the nearest auto parts store. I could see there was an AutoZone 1.7 miles away. Opened details for the merchant, and hit “directions” button, which opened my maps app and took me straight there.

Sure enough, my battery tested dead by the tech. So we went inside and rang one up. Total was $187.45. I entered the exact amount, and DashDirect said it would issue an instant gift card in the amount of $187.45, but would only charge me $179.48 an instant savings of $7.97.

Here’s the coolest part. DashDirect calls the Dash wallet automatically, and pre-populated the payment of $179.48 (~1.29 Dash) to DD’s address. Didn’t need to enter a thing. I confirm the payment and it automatically calls DashDirect app to display my digital gift card.

AutoZone uses a bar code for their gift cards, which was displayed on my screen. They simply scanned it with their laser scanner. Paid.  It was that simple.  I saved 4.25% off my purchase. No buying a gift card in advance and guessing how much I will need. Geo-located the closest auto parts store. I didn’t even need to enter anything into my map.  While he was installing my new battery, I told my technician I just saved $8, and he wanted to know how. I showed him the app and he asked how he could get Dash, too.

The app is ready for prime time all. We’re really close to the finish line with it. Killer app. Great job. Craypayapp! Can’t wait to get this out to all our U.S. users!

Oh, and when it comes tax time, I have a complete record of every transaction / spend and the exact amounts paid right there in the app.“

Community Member:  Was loving this thread until this post. I know you have to say such things for “compliance”, but I’m not compliant.  So I’m still going to Make Income Taxation Optional Using DASH, of course.
