Waves Node 1.4 Zegema has opened the Waves ecosystem for millions of MetaMask users. The release is running on Stagenet, and they are calling all developers to connect MetaMask in their applications to test the feature and give them some feedback.

MetaMask is a crypto wallet and it is the gateway to blockchain apps as its facilitates cryptocurrency transactions between cryptocurrency user wallets and the apps and vice versa. It finds immense use when buying, storing, sending and swapping tokens. It is available as a browser extension and as a mobile app.

MetaMask provides the simplest yet most secure way to connect to blockchain-based applications. Users always feel in control when interacting on the new decentralized web.

For those who are wondering if it is essential to own cryptocurrency to make use of the Metamask, the answer is no.  Technically no, as you can accept signature requests from sites without any value in an account. Adding cryptocurrencies in your MetaMask account like ETH and ERC-20 or ERC-721 tokens permits you to invest, trade, play games, own unique digital items (NFT collectibles) and much more.

You can send ETH and tokens from another wallet to a new MetaMask account. Simply copy your new MetaMask public address and go to your existing wallet or exchange to send funds to your new wallet address. You can find your MetaMask address under account name (in the format 0x12r45…6HJ9).

MetaMask provides support for ETH and any ETH based token (erc20, 721, and more).  You will need to manually list some tokens to see them within MetaMask.

Metamask also supports collectibles tab on the home screen of the mobile wallet. MetaMask at present supports Trezor and Ledger on the extension. There is currently no hardware wallet support on mobile yet.

An ethereum address is a unique identifier that serves as a virtual location for your ether and ethereum-based tokens. Think of it like your bank account number. And, that will be your public address.

To deposit receive and send on the mobile app, tap the menu button (top right), then click Wallet. Select a token or collectible then click Send or Receive.
