Fake Piece in a Verified Collection On Open Sea and lot of Garbage NFTs

Art Blocks expressed:  A fake piece made its way to a verified collection on OpenSea and was purchased before the fake was taken down. OpenSea verified it was the only instance among the collections, and they offered the buyer a full refund. Scary stuff, but we’re glad to see a quick resolution!

Reply:  So sorry this happened! It was an outlier on OpenSea’s UI and they’ve verified it’s the only instance of a fake piece in a verified collection. They also reached out to issue a full refund. But yes, everyone please be careful out there.

Community response:  Also, Opensea should review all those copy projects that have come out in polygon Opensea. There is a lot of garbage there.

Good on Open sea about the refund.  Also, Opensea should review all those copy projects that have come out in polygon, open sea. There is a lot of garbage there.

OpenSea offers cross-blockchain support across Ethereum, Polygon and Klatyn.

ETH is used to pay transaction fees (known as gas fees) on the Ethereum blockchain. OpenSea has no say in setting gas fees – they are determined by supply/demand and fluctuate according to network usage.

Polygon (previously known as the Matic Network) is a separate blockchain that provides scalable, secure and instant transactions with Ethereum currencies like ETH, USDC and DAI.

Klaytn, is a blockchain developed by Korean internet company, Kakao. Users can use the Kaikas wallet browser extension to buy and sell Klaytn NFTs on OpenSea.
