Trying to time the market is the hardest and therefore many investors choose to go long term.  It is easy to remember the price you bought something for and sell it for a higher price than trying to scalp trying to time the market.

The idea of holding through bear markets get propagated by influencers.  Previously, when there was a bear market or a crash, investors used to sell short and embrace profits; however, now investors have been trained and tutored to hold and persist until the next bullish trend can happen.

The trend is to HOLD irrespective of whether there is a bear market or bull market, particularly so with Bitcoin.  It just keeps curious on whether it is only BTC that carries this special privilege? People want to enjoy profits then, there, and in the now.  However, persistent investors who are keen about generational wealth love to diversify and hold for long.  And, those who can afford to hold for long choose to hold too.  And, those who cannot afford to hold, try to identify strong ways to come out of their pay check to pay check life to hold.

Others who want to make profits lock their funds in DeFi trying to make some interest out of it while holding.

Definitely MATIC. After tuning in to the ZK Summit, I can see Polygon taking over on the long-term. Especially now that it has established itself as the ZK powerhouse of the space and the only chain fit to scale Ethereum.

By 2030, ETH might have been upgraded and might not need L2 scaling solutions anymore. Or other L1 might flip ETH before that.

Nothing is worth holding because, all of the coins will be back to zero.

My bet is on CRO due to their long-term partnerships and growing ecosystem. DOT and MATIC is also good.
