The wish of every Dogecoin (DOGE) holder is that it should be used as money. Dogecoin is based on Scrypt algorithm, and the transaction process is more convenient than Bitcoin. Dogecoin takes only 1 minute to confirm, while BTC takes 10 minutes. Thus, it can do 30 transactions within one minute of getting confirmation from the cryptocurrency exchanges.
The wallet used for Dogecoin transfer also influences the transfer speed. For instance, when Doge is transferred from Coinbase to Binance about 60 confirmations is required. This will take about 1 hour for completion.
On the Kraken exchange the transfer for Dogecoin takes 40 minutes since only 40 confirmations are required.
User1: How would a Dogecoin Network transfer be under a second? What technology is that using?
Other Users: I’ve come to realize that it’s not talking about confirming at all, and the person is just talking about what they see on their end on the app.
It makes sense to accept an unconfirmed tx from someone buying a cup of coffee in person. It is risk management. Same thing store owners do when they don’t check all the security measures of a $5 bill.
True, absolutely. MyDoge should probably have a vendor version of the app to display these, as AFAIK, it doesn’t in the ordinary app.
A confirmed transaction means that the transaction has been included in a block, and therefore included in the blockchain. That means the transaction has now been officially recorded and verified, the payment can now be processed, and it can no longer be reversed.
Confirmations is a measure of how many blocks have actually passed since a transaction was added to a coin’s blockchain.
A transaction is considered unconfirmed until it has been included in a block on the blockchain, depending upon the number of agreed-upon confirmations.
Binance Academy, “Confirmation time is the time elapsed between the moment a blockchain transaction is submitted to the network and the time it is finally recorded into a confirmed block. In other words, it represents the total time a user has to wait until their transaction gets collected and confirmed by a miner node.”
Exodus, Atomic, Guarda, Ledger Nano S, Trezor Model One, Ledger Nano X, Trezor Model T, Dogecoin Core, KeepKey, Dogecoin Wallet (Android) and many more.
Dogecoin wallets hold anywhere from 100–1,000 Doge. Some Doge wallets can be Dogecoin mining clients that permit full or part of the Dogecoin blockchain download or they allow download of a mere software, which can be used to send, receive, hold, exchange, and buy Dogecoin. Just like any other wallet, Dogecoin wallets can be installed on a desktop computer, on mobile devices, as extensions on browsers, or just be hosted wallets on crypto exchanges, and they can also be offering other services, which run online or via apps.
