USDC is coming to Stellar. Meridian Hackathon is beginning on Friday. Stellar Dev Digest which is a weekly recap of everything happening in the development of Stellar Network updates on what happened in the ecosystem this week.

On October 15, 2020 Stellar have announced that they are now the official chain for USDC.  Of note, USDC is one of the world’s leading regulated and compliant digital dollar stablecoins with more than $2.5B issued to date.  USDC are set to bring in a new strong, stable, and engaged USD asset to the Stellar ecosystem for developers and also for the end users making it possible to leverage when making transactions on the Stellar blockchain.

Denelle Dixon, CEO of Stellar Development Foundation was part of the discussion about cross border payments at the the IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings.

On October 7, 2020 SDF did host a special roundtable, in which board members of the Stellar Development Foundation came together and discussed the implications of the network effects to further share their expertise about how to accomplish the value-growth model in the blockchain.

The Stellar Quest Series 1 had Challenge 3 go live.  Those who believe they have what it takes to join the rest of the Stellar Adventurers to make the best of the chance to win sweet prizes, fame and glory should try it.

The Kelpbot StellarBattle has finally come to an end.  During August, Stellar announced a contest and they called people to create educational content, which will be based on their experiences which is about using Kelp with 20,000 XLM in prizes.

Sydney Ifergan, the crypto expert tweeted:  “Stellar Lumens (XLM) Community are eagerly awaiting the Meridian Hackathon due from October 23, 2020 through November 02, 2020.”

Meridian is organized as a free virtual Stellar Conference this year.  The Stellar Development Foundation are sponsoring the hackathon.  The Challenge is for old and newcomers alike in a way motivating them to build something which will showcase the new features of Stellar.

Of note, the final Stellar testnet reset for 2020 is scheduled for 10/28/20 at 0900 UTC.  The reset will be clearing all the ledger entries along with the historical data from both Stellar Core and Horizon.  Following the reset, users might want to recreate accounts, assets, and offers.  Detailed instructions about the best practices for dealing with the reset are provided.

When it comes to managing secret keys, custodial solutions and non-custodial solutions are the options.  On October 29, 2020 SDF are hosting an Ecosystem Roundtable to identify which options are useful.  They are looking to discuss and identify which one is better for product development, adoption and the future of Fintech.
