Bitcoin in Arizona is free from restrictive legislation, meaning you can buy, sell, and transact with cryptocurrency without any state-level regulations.
There are proposals in Arizona and Wyoming to permit residents to pay their taxes in digital money. This definitely does have legal and political hurdles to clear; however, proponents believe these efforts are a move towards broader acceptance of cryptocurrencies.
Lawmakers in these two state legislatures have been exploring methods to take advantage of the growing interest in cryptocurrencies.
Dennis Porter shared: Candidate for Governor of Arizona declares, “I will support the right of Arizonans to own and exchange Cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin.”
COMMUNITY RESPONSE: Including bitcoin? Why would they feel the need to say that? That is a call for questioning.
The most mainstream coin is BTC. We don’t need their support. We’ll do it anyway.
This looks like a great step. Many feel that government support is very necessary and that this can strengthen the supervision.
The local government by these gestures seems to accepting that BTC exists objectively. Arizonans already have had the right to own and exchange crypto – both at this moment and even before. All of these cryptocurrency support talk looks like a political move. Lowering taxes and making BTC legal tender is a different story though.
Many feel that all these candidates are using Bitcoin and crypto to further their own personal agenda (getting elected). The real test is if they win will they follow through with what they say. Most of the time politicians do not.
Good to see Arizona supporting innovation and economic growth. This is amazing. However, unless an investigation is carried out on corrupt SEC officials Clayton and Hinman, then impunity in the government will continue and the US will lose the Blockchain race to China or Russia.
Out right politicians need to support it. We don’t need their permission. Their role is to ensure that our natural God given rights are not infringed upon.
Bitcoiners are passionate and evangelical about their tokens. However, they are just beginning to learn. Also, Bitcoiners rarely forgive.
These people say everything they need to get elected. Biden said he will cancel student loans. Are they canceled? The whole point is not about what they say, but will they execute what they say.
Bitcoin isn’t going to be made illegal they need to step it up. Add it to state treasury or allow people to pay taxes. Means nothing. Empty promises.
The real thing is that no one is using BTC for anything ever. BTC guys buy the dip hoping that the price will keep going up.
If things work out really the way they say – A win for Bitcoin is a win for all.
