Sasha Ivanov expressed:  Why are the NFT games tokens going up in price while the market is tanking? There’s an intrinsic demand for them, aside from pure speculation. Crypto ought to have utility beyond trading.

Intrinsic demand refers to natural demand due to its own nature.  Speculation is a theory without firm evidence.

The community was like DeFi; gaming and NFTs are significant use cases. However, mass use will come from a National legal tender token, stable against a collection of commodities/services relevant to the population. It is initially partnering with payment providers.

A couple of days ago, our adventure with ducks was two months old, the number of people in chats is approaching 10k, and yesterday the volume of P2P trading in ducks exceeded $500k in 4 days, so it’s time to share a story of creation and some lessons.

I’m sure that we are only at the beginning of the journey, but I’d like to share this now, before it is forgotten and distorted in my brain. There will be a lot of tweets; make some popcorn.

Understanding the game via Inal Kardan:  Waves Ducks is an economic game based on the blockchain. You do tasks on social networks (like making a meme, posting a photo, etc.) and get a reward in EGG tokens. You can exchange EGG tokens for Genesis ducks.

Each duck has eight genes for its appearance (hair, head, eyes, beak, two wings, tail, and body).

Ducks can interbreed (each duck only once). When crossing, the genes of the parents are mixed (50% probability for each gene). As a result, you can get such a tree from ducks and their descendants:

Genes look like AAAAAAAA (Elon), BBBBBBBB (Satoshi), etc. Their child can have something like ABAABABB. Based on the set of genes, each duck has a unique level called Rarity.

The more you breed ducks, the more likely you are to get a unique duck, the likes of which do not exist in the game yet and will not appear in the foreseeable future. Why is this Rarity important? It’s all about farming.

You can put a duck on a perch, and it will start laying EGG tokens. The number of EGG depends on the Rarity of the duck and the total number of ducks on the perches, and their total Rarity. For example, a duck with 100% uniqueness now lays about 1.8 eggs per month.

If you don’t like farming, then there is a second option to use ducks – sell them on the marketplace. Using a reasonably simple auction mechanic, you can put a duck up for sale.

There is no one strategy in the game. For some, the strategy is to try to earn money by farming, while others are trading ducks ready for farming. Some users do both depending on their luck.

Everything is like in real life with chickens – someone breeds them for sale as a whole and someone to sell EGG from them.
