Dogecoin Wallet Released for iOS - Non-Custodial and Seems Pretty Easy to Use

A non-custodial wallet allows you to own and control the private keys belonging to your cryptocurrency. This will give you full access and control over your funds.

Why people go for non-custodial wallet?

  • When using non-custodial wallet, you don’t need to ask for permission to use the service.
  • There’s no account approval process, meaning anyone in the world can download the app and start using it immediately.
  • Only owners have access to their funds. This makes it nearly impossible for the service provider, a government, or anyone else to prevent you from using your funds exactly as you wish.
  • Users can avoid scams, hacking and theft.

Update for iOS users

The Dogecoin mobile wallet, called MyDoge Wallet is a non-custodial social wallet designed for the safe storage and trading of the memecoin DOGE. For this, the wallet only incurs a small fee while conducting transactions on the app.

“The official announcement from Shibetoshi Nakamoto, the Doge wallet is now available for iOS users. This means any iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch user can download the wallet.”

The MyDoge Wallet’s App Store description refers to it as ‘the Social Wallet for the People’s Currency’ and states that:

“MyDoge is a free, secure, non-custodial social wallet for Dogecoin. Our mission is to increase the number of daily Dogecoin transactions by building a community for Dogecoin enthusiasts to explore the Dogecoin universe and connect/meet with friends. With MyDoge you can buy, send, receive, and store your Dogecoin safely.”

According to a tweet from the MyDoge Wallet team, “The app enables DOGE transfers from any cryptocurrency exchange and other crypto wallets, including Robinhood and Coinbase”.

The app is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices running iOS 12.0 or greater. It can also be used on the Apple M1 chip Macs running macOS 11.0 or later.

Android Version Is Expected by Dogecoin Holders

As of now, the Dogecoin team has not yet announced an official release date for the Android version of the app. However, Android users can still store their Dogecoins using any of the available non-custodial crypto wallets, including Trust Wallet, Coinomi, Metamask, and more.
