Emin Gun Sirer is very optimistic about the potential of AVAX.  He points to how his goal with blockchain technology is to uplift the human condition.

Sirer references to a statement by Gabriel Cardona, “I’m not a maxi. I want blockchain tech to reach its full potential and uplift the human condition in my lifetime. If that happens w/ the tech I work on, then great. If it happens w/ different tech, then great the tech is a means. My goal is uplifting the human condition.” And eventually clarifies, stating, “If I thought there was another coin that had even a remote chance of actually living up to the promises that blockchains have made to the masses, I would not have initiated AVAX.”

When Emin said PoS is the future, some of the community members were of the opinion that PoW and PoS are the future.

Someone like Emin in the community supporting PoS stated:  If only we had some useful PoW, otherwise No. PoS is much better, egalitarian, inclusive, non-censorable, and environmentally friendly. The “rich getting richer” argument is also the same for PoW.

PoW is fundamentally more decentralized and censorship-resistant than PoS. With PoW, cheap energy is the strongest determining factor in participating in transaction selection. With PoS, wealth is the determining factor. Cheap energy is far more distributed than wealth.

Several community members were impressed by the Sirer Sentiment. They made it very clear that they will follow Avalanche (AVAX) to see if they are actually going to fulfill these sentiments.  Different technical approaches are being tried, and the community will closely follow the chasm between AVAX and all other solutions to see if words turn into action.

However, the practical thing is that everything is a stepping stones or foundational layer for something else, which is how everything changes and evolves. Also, causation is fundamental to life, and thus everything is created from life. So we need to wait to see the numbers of Fortune 500 companies or very successful companies set to boom on Avalanche protocol.

This statement has triggered several community members to compare AVAX to every other technology available in the blockchain space.

Those supporting Sirer were like:  Are you trying to say he doesn’t know bitcoin enough to make the statement he made? If so, read more about him.

Community expectations:  How is Avalanche going to lower fees to be helpful for the masses?

Community criticism about centralization:  He does not care about the truth; he only wants people to believe that his centralized network is the future of crypto. Coincidentally, that would pump his gigantic bag of pre-generated self-allocated coins. He and his friends control 80% of the AVAX supply. Coincidentally.
