Ethics & Editorial Standards

Last updated: April 2026

The Currency Analytics operates in a sector where conflicts of interest are common. We set clear boundaries to ensure that our reporting serves readers — not markets, projects, or sponsors. This page documents the ethical standards we apply across our editorial work.

Editorial Independence

  • No project alignment. The Currency Analytics is not owned by, nor affiliated with, any token issuer, cryptocurrency exchange, investment fund, or blockchain project.
  • Advertisers do not influence editorial. Advertising, sponsorships, and affiliate relationships are clearly separated from editorial coverage. No advertiser receives editorial preference, coverage guarantees, or advance review of coverage.
  • Sponsored content is labelled. Any article produced in partnership with, or paid for by, a third party is clearly marked — “Sponsored,” “Partner Content,” or “Press Release” — at the top of the article. Sponsored content is not optimised for search as if it were editorial reporting.

Conflicts of Interest — Holdings Disclosure

Cryptocurrency holdings by our contributors can create conflicts of interest. We manage them through the following rules:

  • Disclosure requirement. Contributors must disclose any material holdings (above 1% of personal portfolio) in an asset before writing an article where that asset is the primary subject. Material holdings are noted at the bottom of the relevant article.
  • Trading restrictions. Contributors may not buy, sell, or trade an asset within 72 hours before or after publishing an article that materially discusses that asset.
  • Non-public information. Contributors who receive non-public information from a project are prohibited from trading that asset, and must disclose the relationship to editors before any related coverage.

Sources & Attribution

  • Primary sources first. We prioritise official filings, on-chain data, verified statements, and documented events over secondary reporting.
  • Attribution is explicit. When we reproduce reporting from another publication, we link and credit it visibly. We do not rewrite other outlets’ reporting without attribution.
  • Anonymous sources. Used only when information is of clear public interest and cannot be obtained on the record. Their motivations and relevant context are described to readers.

Relationships with Sources

  • No gifts. Contributors do not accept cash, tokens, NFTs, travel, accommodation, or services of more than nominal value from sources, article subjects, or interested parties.
  • No paid travel from covered entities. Conference travel, accommodation, or similar arrangements paid for by a subject of coverage are either declined or fully disclosed in any resulting article.
  • No undisclosed consulting. Contributors do not provide paid consulting or advisory services to projects, exchanges, or tokens they actively cover.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

  • AI-assisted research is permitted — summarisation, translation, transcription, and data extraction tools may be used to support reporting.
  • AI-generated text is not published without human review. Every article is written or edited by a human contributor who takes editorial responsibility for the content.
  • AI-generated images are labelled when used. We do not pass off synthetic imagery as photographic documentation.

Corrections & Accountability

Errors happen. When they do, we correct them transparently. Our separate Corrections Policy details how errors are reported, reviewed, and resolved. All corrections are logged.
