Staking rewards did not get over with 2021. It continues through 2022. Users will be able to still join the stake for ASMB and SMR.
IOTA staking for the Shimmer network (SMR tokens) and the Assembly network (ASMB tokens) began on the 21st of December, at 3:00 pm CET with a seven-day pre-staking period. Token holders started to stake to receive staking rewards from the 28th of December for 90 days onwards. A new version of Firefly which enables staking is now available.
Also, stakers need not split their IOTA tokens to stake for SMR and ASMB. IOTA tokens can be staked for ASMB and SMR simultaneously.
IOTA recently expressed: “Stake IOTA tokens for Shimmernet and assembly net tokens at any time during the 90-day staking period. There are still 81 days left! 73.38% of the IOTA token supply is staked, which means less than 27% is left to stake. Don’t miss out!”

Additional Information: Staking rewards are issued every 10 seconds. So, for every 10 seconds, you aren’t staking you miss some rewards. So, the earlier you stake the better.
