The Zcash Foundation are excited to announce that they hope to become a new series of hyper-local events called “Zcon Voices.” The first event is called “Zcon Vozes,” which will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on March 18th, delivered in Portuguese.

This 1st conference is being held in partnership with a former Zcash Ambassador, and his amazing Zcash Brazil crew, who previously received a separate grant for furthering ZCAsh Brazil’s impact.

This project, and several others will be announced in 2023 and users are welcome to share ZF’s expertise and resources with their global community. The goal of Zcon Voices is to support local, grassroots action, which brings Zcash and financial privacy to communities, which need it the most.

The Zcash Foundation’s goal for Zcon Voices is to provide a venue & a platform for regional-specific conversation and education about strong use cases for Zcash and financial privacy. Conferences will be contextualized—organized by local groups, presented in the local language.

Zcon Voices events will complement ZF’s annual Zcon event, further expanding the surface area available for conversation, engagement and education throughout the Zcash ecosystem.

ZF will provide financial and logistical support for these events, but ultimately the content, location, and other details will be driven by the local partners. ZF looks forward to amplifying the voices of Zcashers in their local communities, regions, and beyond.

The ZCash community has lot of other things to be proud about this year in 2023.

Previously in 2022, ZCash foundation saw Zebra node go live on Mainnet thus strengthening network resilience and decentralizing consensus.

The protocol made history with NU5, the community further decentralized, and awareness around the project was at an all-time high.

Zcon3, the annual conference organized by the foundation brought the community together in-person and their FROST research (Flexible Round-Optimized Schnorr Threshold, and it is a threshold signature scheme that essentially reduces network overhead during signing) is industry-renown.

Zcash Community Grants is a community-elected grants committee that funds Zcash-related projects in order to bring financial privacy to everyone in the world. Zcash Community Grants om 2022 funded various projects that increased Zcash awareness, brought more utility to the protocol, and fostered a vibrant, global community. This year solidified that more organizations building on Zcash delivers more results.
