TCAT — The Currency Analytics Token

An historical overview of TCAT, the community token that helped build The Currency Analytics into the independent crypto news platform it is today.

TCAT was launched in 2018 as a community initiative tied to The Currency Analytics editorial mission. It was active on major exchanges between 2018 and 2020. Since then, the token has stepped back from active circulation while the editorial platform has continued to grow into a daily-publishing independent crypto news source.

Why The Currency Analytics Exists

The Currency Analytics (TCA) was founded in 2018 by Sydney TheCMO with a simple thesis: cryptocurrency media at the time was dominated by recycled content, rumour, and undisclosed promotion. Readers had no reliable way to tell verified reporting from sponsored noise.

TCA was built to address that gap — a daily-publishing crypto news platform with a transparent editorial policy, independent author bylines, and a strict freshness mandate on news selection.

The TCA Editorial Philosophy — D.O.I.T.

TCA’s editorial mandate is built on four principles, summarised by the acronym D.O.I.T. — the working rule for every piece published on the platform.

D — Daily. News must be verifiably less than 48 hours old. Anything older is treated as analysis, not news.

O — Original. No rewrite, no copy-paste, no aggregation pretending to be reporting. Every article must add an angle, source, or analysis the reader can’t get from a press release.

I — Independent. No paid placements masquerading as editorial. Sponsored content is labelled as such; reviews disclose any commercial relationship.

T — Transparent. Author bylines, publication dates, sources, and corrections are visible. Mistakes are corrected on the record, not deleted.

TCAT — The 2018-2020 Timeline

TCAT’s active years were characterised by exchange listings, integrations, and ecosystem partnerships. The following milestones are kept on record for the community that participated in that period.

2018TCAT launches as the community token of The Currency Analytics. Initial design built around the REAL editorial protocol (Real, Ethical, Attributive, Lasting).
2018-2019Listings secured on a range of exchanges including LATOKEN, P2PB2B, Mercatox, LocalTrade, Dex-Trade, Coinlim, FinanceX, and others. Listing on CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko follows.
2020Klever wallet integration. The TCAT Bot launches as a Telegram-side utility for the community. Editorial focus deepens; token activity gradually winds down through the year.
2020+TCAT exits active circulation. Tokens were progressively bought back to reduce supply on the open market. The Currency Analytics editorial operation continues independently and at scale.

What The Currency Analytics Does Today

Since 2020, TCA’s focus has shifted entirely to the editorial product. The platform now operates as a daily-publishing crypto news outlet across three languages, with dedicated coverage of:

  • Bitcoin news — price action, ETF flows, regulatory developments, institutional adoption
  • Altcoins — major Layer 1s, DeFi protocols, ecosystem updates
  • Exchange reviews — independent editorial reviews of Kraken, Coinbase, Binance, Bybit, Bitvavo, and 12+ others
  • Regulations — SEC, CFTC, EU MiCA, UAE VARA, FCA, and other major regulator coverage
  • Stablecoins — issuer transparency, reserves, regulatory standing
  • DeFi & NFT — protocol updates, exploits, governance

Editions are published in English, French, and Arabic, with a Google News and Bing News presence in each.

Where TCAT Stands Now

TCAT is best understood today as a legacy community token. It is no longer listed on active exchanges and is not available for purchase on this site or any partner platform. Pages on this site that previously promoted TCAT have been reframed as historical reference and are kept for transparency, not for solicitation.

The Currency Analytics may revisit TCAT in the future under a clearly disclosed framework. Until that happens, the token should be treated as historical only.
