Chains like Ethereum and Solana have bought a realization that low gas fee and scaling solutions are needed.  So, Avalanche takes a special approach to this with subnets, diverting traffic that would otherwise congest its main chain.

Avalanche “Subnets” provide for “Infinite Scaling” in the ecosystem.  Subnets are the future of Web3 infrastructure.  Web3 Network is partitioned into multiple subnets.  Subnets solve some of the biggest challenges in the Web3 infrastructure – scaling.

With subnets on Web3, there is no need for the transaction process to jump through different devices. Thus, makes it possible to balance high traffic and high transactions on the Avalanche network. Further, subnets provide for greater control over the network traffic.  Thus, making it easy to manage and monitor the network.

When it moves to the phase of mass adoption there are likely to be some issues, which Web3 faces like blockchain congestion, fee spikes, network downtime, and fragmented developer experiences.

Subnets provide for premier scaling solutions for Web3 catering to customizable user experiences, dedicated blockchains for faster and cheaper transactions, and on-demand scaling for any project.

Avalanche: “User experience: Whether it’s a blockchain specifically engineered for Institutional DeFi, an on-chain central limit order book exchange, or the next AAA game, create a Subnet that puts your users first, to enjoy the apps they love without worrying about congestion or fees.

Dedicated blockspace: Subnets are connected to the core Avalanche chain, but don’t compete over a single pool of resources. By isolating activity away from the broader network, projects can ensure that high traffic spikes for third-party apps don’t cause congestion for users.

Accelerated time-to-launch for developers: Avalanche Subnets enable you to scale on-demand, overhauling your infrastructure for mass scale in the matter of hours, rather than days, weeks, months, or even years.

Everybody wins:  Users win by having reliably fast and low-fee transactions for the applications they want to use.  Developers win by scaling their applications quickly, while providing an elevated experience for users.”

Avalanche is coming up with a series of resources and tools, which are shared for developers and teams to begin building their own fully-customizable Subnets. Thus, there’s no barrier to getting started to build with Avalanche Subnets.  Avalanche is also offering a Multiverse incentive program to accelerate the growth of Subnets.

Community Reaction:  Subnets are a great way to scale your DApp, but they’re not the future of the web3 ecosystem. There are other, more performant and scalable ways to build dApps that will be more efficient in the long run.
