The Make Crypto Mobile hackathon organized by Celo had record levels of participants from different countries and different tracks and all the projects had one thing in common: Built on Celo. It is time to dive deeper to know more.
Celo have to state that they are proud to have hosted the best minds and builders in the crypto industry. Every single participant showed amazing initiative in finding unique ways to leverage Celo. There were 2380 total participants enough to speak the volume of ideas in this hackathon.
What does it truly mean to be global and accessible to everyone? Participants from over 135+ countries took part in their hackathon, showcasing the power of global collaboration in a decentralized world. Celo is built by everyone for everyone.
They had a total of 902 projects being actively built. Celo is providing the right infrastructure for anyone to build the future of finance, gaming, payments and so much more. The future of crypto by the hackathon is about being open, mobile, and green.
As NFTs continue to make waves and noise in the entire world, the hackathon definitely didn’t disappoint. They had over 53 NFT projects that were built on Celo. As these projects come out of fruition, we will see Celo become a desirable blockchain for NFTs.
DeFi is shaking up the financial world and the DeFi4Thepeople initiative has seen many top projects launch on Celo. It comes as no surprise that the most subscribed track ended up being DeFi, with 76 projects submitted. DeFi for mobile.
The shift from Web2 to Web3 is real and it’s happening fast. With 29 projects that were submitted to the Web3 track, it’s clear that crucial web3 infrastructure can be built on Celo and built on Mobile.
There were 22 projects submitted under the ‘green’ track, playing their part to use the power of blockchain to help sustain their environment.
Ramps are vital for building a successful onboarding process for crypto. To achieve their goal of building for the 6B+ mobile phone users, their Cash In/Cash Out track saw a total of 38 projects build the best ramps to the Celo Ecosystem.
Blockchains should be able to seamlessly communicate with each other, and they believe the solution lies in bridges. Bridging to and from Celo has become easier and faster than ever. 25 projects were submitted to help Celo become the most connected blockchain ecosystem.
So many unique projects, unique journeys, and many stories to share. Celo have to state that hackathon could not have been possible without the participants. With over $2.5M in prizes up for grabs, those who love hackathons should not. The Demo Day is coming soon so that users can learn more from their participants and winners.
