Dogecoin has become one of the standout performers this July, recording a staggering 77% gain and regaining momentum as the broader crypto market showed signs of strength. The coin, often criticized for its volatility, is now in the spotlight again with analysts suggesting more upside could follow. Still, the psychological barrier of $0.4 might prove to be a challenge in the near term.
Rectangle Bottom Breakout Ignites Bullish Sentiment
After consolidating within a range between $0.142 and $0.25 since March, Dogecoin finally broke out of this pattern on July 20. This range-bound behavior had kept DOGE in check for months, frustrating both bulls and bears. However, the recent move above $0.25 has added a fresh layer of optimism to Dogecoin’s outlook.
According to analysts, this breakout from the rectangle bottom formation could lead to an extended rally, targeting the $0.33 to $0.357 range in the coming weeks. This projection is based on the height of the range added to the breakout point, a classic price action approach.
The surge has been supported by strong volume, particularly over the past twelve days, which further confirms the bullish intent of market participants.
On-Chain Metrics Support Continued Rally
Data from Santiment reveals a healthy rise in on-chain activity without signs of overheating. Daily active addresses have steadily increased through July, but have not reached levels that typically indicate excessive speculation or bubble-like behavior. In past months, extreme spikes in this metric often marked local tops and preceded corrections.
Transaction count has also climbed, indicating that more users are engaging with the Dogecoin network. Additionally, the 365-day coin circulation metric has been ticking higher since May. This suggests long-term holders are beginning to move their coins — not necessarily to exit positions, but possibly to take partial profits or reposition themselves while new users enter the market.
This mix of old and new activity generally points toward growing adoption rather than market exhaustion.
Psychological Resistance at $0.4 Could Be a Challenge
Even though momentum is clearly on Dogecoin’s side, some hurdles remain. The price currently faces resistance at the $0.285 level — a price point that previously acted as a ceiling back in February. If bulls can manage a clean break above it, the next major target will be $0.33, followed by the psychologically significant $0.4 zone.
Historically, $0.4 has proven to be a tough barrier for Dogecoin. Between November 2024 and January 2025, multiple attempts to move past that level failed. This makes it a key area to watch going forward. A break above $0.4 could trigger strong buying interest, but failing to push through might lead to a healthy correction.
Short-Term Pullback Still in Play
Despite the bullish momentum, traders should remain cautious of short-term pullbacks. A move back toward the $0.25 level — the previous range high — is possible if the market temporarily loses steam. Some analysts also highlight the fair value gap at $0.26 as a potential demand zone where buyers may step in again.
For swing traders and long-term holders alike, these dips could provide ideal opportunities to accumulate DOGE before the next leg higher.
Dogecoin’s Broader Trend Looks Strong
Overall, Dogecoin’s price prediction for the next month remains optimistic. The combination of technical breakout, steady on-chain activity, and improving sentiment across the crypto market puts DOGE in a favorable position.
While the $0.4 mark will be a true test of the rally’s strength, the groundwork laid by the recent breakout and rising user engagement suggests Dogecoin may have more room to grow before any significant reversal.
If bullish momentum holds and volume remains strong, Dogecoin could very well extend toward $0.357 or even attempt to breach the $0.4 barrier in the coming weeks.
For now, the trend remains in favor of the bulls — with caution advised around key resistance zones.
