The ETC Mystique hard-fork is live. This is not a contentious hard fork, but it is just a protocol upgrade.
The latest hard-fork of the Ethereum Classic Network will permit outstanding Ether London upgrades to be implemented across the ETC network.
“Mystique is a hard-fork which is bringing a subset of the EIPs that is a part of Ethereum’s London hard-fork across into Ethereum Classic.
The hard-fork is specified in ECIP-1104 (ECIP-1104 Mystique EVM and Protocol Upgrades)
Included: EIP-3529 (Alternative Refund Reduction); EIP-3541 (Reject new contracts starting with the 0xEF byte)
Excluded: EIP-1559 (Fee Market Change); EIP-3198 (BASEFEE opcode); EIP-3554 (Difficulty bomb delay)
The important focus of the current fork is compatibility.
Afri Schoedon in the past expressed: “I think the most important feature of Ethereum Classic today is its protocol parity with other EVM networks. I would argue this is biggest benefit of using ETC today.”
This hard fork did not do a lot to the price of ETC. ETC climbed by more than 5% before the activation on the charts and it fell down quickly. The community however are continuing to be optimistic.
Donald McIntyre reinstates that, “Ethereum Classic is “definitely a top-10 blockchain.” He states that ranking is just an anomaly as opposed to being a rule.
The ETC community’s optimism is related to more than just the market rankings. In the past year, McIntyre stated that ETC would touch $1000 and he still continues to stick to it. It has not happened yet and we do not know when it will happen either.
The ETC advocate claims that the macro-economic situation and CoVID-19 simply delayed the progress of the crypto bull cycle for the token.
The development activities of ETC are in the uptick recently. And, ETC has got neutral ratings for observer sentiment.
The Sentiment Score is a measurement of the performance of Ethereum Classic over the past five days in terms of volume and price movement.
The Sentiment Score facilitates a quick and short-term look in to the recent crypto performance. This, short-term investors looking to ride a rally and longer-term investors trying to buy the dip can both benefit by buying in to the token now.
For those who are new, Ethereum Classic (ETC) is a decentralized, blockchain-based, open-source computing platform, as well as a cryptocurrency. It permits developers to build and deploy smart contracts—autonomous, self-executing code blocks that trigger certain actions based on predefined conditions. Ethereum Classic still continues to have active developers, miners, and a strong group of supporters. Ethereum Classic has been 51% attacked a number of times, therefore making it extremely risky as an investment considering the security factor. Despite, neutral sentiment prevails.
