The price of real estate or LAND in the metaverse space is at par with real-time real estate. In reality, they are getting more price than what one would imagine to get in real life. Decentraland and other cryptocurrency ecosystems are creating virtual worlds using 3D animated avatars and graphics, known as metaverse. Several people at first thought that this is an interactive video game, when it was first launched. However, eventually, it became much more than that.
Several thousands of people and major corporations have spent millions buying virtual LAND in the metaverse worlds like Decentraland, Sandbox, Somnium, and others. While some of these investors did so for investment purposes others look at this land as the next level in digital marketing.
They are using the metaverse world to spread their brand awareness and to make information about their product or service more accessible to new-age clients.
For instance, JP Morgan Bank opened their lounge in Decentraland to make it easier for their customers to know more about its crypto and blockchain service, Onyx.
PWC Hong Kong purchased their LAND in Sandbox to gain expertise about the technology so that they can advise their global clients in a better way about this new trend.
How to Buy Land in the Metaverse? Those who want to buy a land in the metaverse space should do their own research before taking risks:
Step 1: Choose a metaverse platform (Sandbox, Decentraland or any others)
Step 2: Set up your wallet
Step 3: Connect your wallet to the Sandbox marketplace
Step 4: Buy SAND or ETH on Binance and transfer it to your wallet
Step 5: Select a parcel of LAND
Real land vs Virtual land
CNBC reportedly has to state that, A normal house costs around $2,80,000 (exact figure $287,148), which is incidentally the same as buying a virtual land in metaverse in a posh locality! Thus, the price of LAND in the metaverse world is typically the same or even more in many cases than buying real land.
It is confusing as to why Investors globally are paying for something made available digitally. And, the hard part is that it has no real asset tied to it. It is just a work of computer codes and animation despite there are buyers willing to spend so much money on it.
Experts have to state that it is not advisable for retail investors to be spending money buying LAND in the metaverse world. Rather, they are supposed to go and enjoy the experience which the metaverse facilitates.
Big corporations and companies are actually doing it for their marketing purpose. They can afford to lose money if something goes wrong; however, if the retail investor goes all in and invests in a virtual LAND, then if the value of the LAND goes zero – they are going to lose their total savings.
