Iran has issued a stark warning of “all-out war” in response to former President Donald Trump’s announcement about deploying a US naval armada to the Persian Gulf. The development, reported on January 24, 2026, has heightened tensions in an already volatile region.

The Iranian government reacted strongly on Wednesday after Trump’s statement, which was made during an event in Florida. He described the move as necessary to protect American interests and allies in the Middle East. In response, Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian declared that any military aggression would meet with strong resistance from Tehran. “If the United States acts on this provocation, they will be faced with a war they cannot contain,” Amir-Abdollahian said during a televised address.
