Neo Global Development is hosting Polaris Launchpad Hackathon, the second event since the release of Neo N3 MainNet in 2021. Polaris Launchpad will start on Monday, March 7, 2022 and will run until June 21st.

NGD aims to build on the foundation of the Frontier Launchpad 2021, which has awarded over $ 100,000 in prize money and over $ 200,000 in follow-up funding. Examples of projects that won the first hackathon are TOTHEMOON, Rentfuse, NekoHit, Lyrebird, and Humswap.

Who will get prize?

The prizes available on the Polaris Launchpad exceed Frontier’s total prizes of $500,000.

The best projects in each event category will receive a $35,000 grand prize and a prize multiplier.

Winners of the 15 Excellence Awards will receive $8,000 and the Prize Multiplier Award.

An additional prize pool of at least $57,500 will be distributed through appropriate funding from the Neo community.

What are five categories for the Polaris Launchpad Hackathon?

  • DeFi
  • Metaverse and NFT
  • DAO
  • Middleware incorporating NeoFS and native Oracle networks
  • General

Like the Neo Frontier Launchpad, NGD is actively trying to incubate top projects created during the hackathon. Grand Prize winners can participate in NGD’s $ 200 million EcoBoost program. Developers can expect hands-on support from Neo’s global development community to realize their projects during the Polaris Launchpad Hackathon.

The Frontier Launchpad Hackathon consisted of two phases.

  • Planathon
  • Development phase.

This year’s Polaris Launchpad has a third phase called Polaris Plus.

Planathon

Planathon allows teams to submit project plans and receive feedback before the hackathon phase begins. Applicants who submit the most thoughtful plans will receive 1.1x to 1.5x “multiplier” that applies to the team’s final prize. For example, if a team wins a 1.5x multiplier and a maximum prize of $ 35,000, the team will receive $ 52,500.

Hackathon

Submission of the hackathon portion of the Polaris Launchpad will begin on Tuesday, April 12th and end on Monday, May 9th.

Participants looking for getting started can visit Neo’s developer portal to find documentation, tutorials, and tool options.

The Polaris Launchpad judges will confirm the final entry after the deadline and announce the winners on Monday, May 30th.

Polaris Plus

In this phase, Neo-Community GAS will contribute to your favorite projects. Polaris Plus is an invitation-only project, but all projects are eligible, regardless of whether they have won the Grand Prize or the Excellence Award.

Winners of this round will receive additional funds in addition to the rewards they have already earned. NGD has secured a minimum of $ 57,500. However, multiplier funds that were not earned in the previous round will also be added to Polaris Plus’s financial resources.

The Polaris Plus phase runs from June 8th to June 21st. Teams must manually join the Dorahacks platform instead of being automatically enrolled in the Polaris Plus phase. Community members must also register with Dorahacks to vote.
