Emin Gun Sirer expressed: There are so many great NFTs in the new ToppsNFTs MLB collection. The team has created a simple user experience for people new to crypto to get started, and then own your favorite NFTs on Avalanche.
Community reaction: So getting a rejected queue number 3 times during the launch is a simple user experience? Worst part about this was I was the 641 person in line which would have guaranteed me being able to buy some packs. Instead I gave up after the third time rejected from the queue.
Didn’t they have this exact same problem a week or two ago? Yes, but they are not allowing withdrawal of our money to AVAX wallet. You can buy or sell this Toppsnfts, but can’t get your money. What a big shame. So don’t be proud about them using AVAX.
So, they’re minted on the Avalanche chain but you have to link your bank account to buy with fiat dollars on their marketplace.
Just looked like the NFTs were too good that they got sold very soon. ToppsNFTs felt like bloopers for AVAX community.
Meanwhile, Emin pointed to an interesting thread on why online privacy is critical. Not because people may have something to hide, but because privacy is necessary for equal treatment.
Stella Expressed: One of the most successful lies ever told to the public was “if you have nothing to hide you don’t need to worry about privacy” That means people are so focused on being “good” they forget privacy affects the opportunities, equality and freedom you might get in life.
And we all have something to hide because all of us even if we live doing no harm, we have private lives And nothing to hide? From who? Who decides what is ok? Because we live in a world where corruption, racism and harm is enabled but integrity is punished. So, what are we hiding?
It seems to me that we are hiding our souls, because we are living while acting the pretense of “good lives” to standards enforced by people who create them to profit and hurt us. Who feast while others starve and are yet upheld as icons and leaders?
Finally privacy means people don’t get to have three million data points on you and your neighborhood even the dogs. It means decisions on pricing, opportunities for work and leisure and health and safety are made for public good. Not what an algo designed by a racist decided
