Of note, the best projects in DeFi, Web3, and blockchain gaming are choosing to build on Solana for the long-term.
Serum, Audius, Terra, akash, Chainlink, Civic, Bonfida, Stardust, anchor and more are just a few to name from the many partnerships, collaborations, and integrations.
Year 2020 despite the challenges imposed by the pandemic, the Solana ecosystem flourished and grew exponentially. They launched Mainnet Beta, grew a dedicated global community of over 650k, onboarded more than 350 validators, partnered with leading projects like Audius, Circle, Chainlink, Serum, Terra, Akash, and many others.
For clarity, Solana has more than 100 project integrations covering DeFi, Blockchain Gaming, and Web3 verticals. There are 350+ active validators distributed across the globe. About 8.3 billion transactions on-chain and counting. More than 54 million blocks have been created. There are 4.9 million unique SOL wallets. There are 600,000+ global advocates and community members. And the Solana Foundation hosted its first hackathon in Q4 and over 1,000 devs participated in the event.
Those who are interested in building on Solana should check the ecosystem page with direct links to the grants program, documentation, and forms to submit a sample existing project for representation on the website.
A general overview is available in the developer page providing information around the core innovations that make up Solana.
Velas recently announced their alignment with Solana. Of note, EVM support is facilitated Velas team.
