Steem Proves Decentralization Right Hive Fork is Alive EOS Daniel Larimer on DPOS

Daniel Larimer, EOS opined that at the end of the day, the ability to fork and the transparency factor as contributing to the key tests of decentralization.

Daniel Larimer tweeted:  “I am thrilled to see #DPOS proving the concept that the cost of attacking a delegated proof of stake chain is your tokens.”

The supportive theory for DPOS is that it is very agile and quick to adapt pretty much under every kind of circumstance, thus adding the human element in governance.  Many opine that the DPOS is the most resistant when it comes to being taken over.  A citation is made to Hive vs. Steem, where the community reacted by forking when Justin tried to take control over the chain.

Sydney Ifergan, the crypto expert, tweeted:  “On EOS Daniel Larimer about DPOS probably true Visibly, Justin Sun took control of Steem, but hive forking proved the ideal of DPOS – the core soul/life/ghost of Steem network left to live on Hive. Steem Proves Decentralization Right.”

A chain without its community is not good.  No matter how much one justifies things by living in one’s own world living from one’s own perspective, the community is the life of decentralization.  Strangers agreeing and disagreeing in consensus is the power of the decentralization system itself.

Therefore, proving the cost of attacking a DPOS is not merely the loss of tokens, but the loss of the life – the community – the life center and consensus that contributed to the network growth.  The tokens and the community will be gone post an attack. Nothing is worth losing the community.

The Steem Hive Case is indeed a clear testimony to the power of DPOS and the power of the community, no matter who or how skilled powerful and tricky the billionaire – natural consensus is very powerful.  No one can wipe the Steem Hive Case out of the history of cryptocurrency.

Steem Proves Decentralization Right

The tit for tat drama between the Justin Sun Steem network and the Community-owned Steem Network is clearly over.  The attackers are left with a lesson about the power of decentralization, and the moral of the story is that “Majority staking does not always win.” Community consensus is important.

Justin Sun will find a way to power up the Steem Network with a new ghost of powerful community to eventually enliven it to be better than the life facilitated by the HIVE community, but we cannot deny that “The Steem that Sun will hold will not have what caused him to like it for.”
