$10,000 worth of XLM (Stellar’s native currency) in prizes will be awarded to the best implementations of the challenges below! In this hackathon, the artist who does not know how to code will be facing the challenge of creating an NFT. The artist will be creating a piece of art according to a particular prompt which will be released at the start of the hackathon.
Litemint is an NFT market place on Stellar and the artist will be able to mint the art piece as the first NFT.
The real fun begins when artists will want to build NFT applications beyond buying and selling.
For those who are new, Non-Fungible Tokens, NFTs are unique digital items, and they can represent ownership of artwork, audio, writing, in-game items, really anything.
For the NFT Artist challenge, entries must create a brand new artpiece based on a prompt released at the start of the hackathon, mint it as an NFT on Litemint and fill out all required fields on a separate form before the deadline on March 13th at 3 PM CST.
At present, NFTs are very popular on Ethereum; however, there are serious advantages for NFTs on Stellar due to their energy-efficient consensus mechanism. Users can mint NFTs within seconds for a low transaction fee. This will eventually break down barriers for artists and creators from across the world to eventually share their work with the world.
