Elon Musk Interrogated: These “NFTs” – are they in the room with us right now

Community Response:  Are we potentially an “NFT” in the universe?

Those shit coins are really starting to get annoying; people waste their money on them. Yet people still invest in them thinking they’re going to get rich and because of a cute logo/profile picture.

That is giving us too much significance in the overall scheme of things.  I’m going to be richer than everybody shortly.  I’ve been taking a screenshot of every NFT I see.

And, when you wake up and realize, that nobody is willing to pay a single penny for your screenshots you really get it.

You should probably go get out or read a book or something, because you definitely don’t get it.

NFTs: Serial numbers loosely related to jpgs, which may or may not still be on the internet.

NFTS are the stupidest thing ever invented – you can’t change my mind.

I absolutely guarantee you that this tweet won’t age well in the years to come. Lol Not only will NFTS find everyday uses, but the fact that you think those are the dumbest things humanity has ever created?

I mean, its kind of is. You’re paying a billion dollars for a PNG that I could right click. Y’all really paying that much for a Google drive link LMAOOOOO.

You’re only considering the NFT as a pixelated image.  They will potentially be used to verify ownership of documents digitally in the near future. Your license, passport, diploma, concert tickets etc.  No more fake IDs.  No more counterfeit concert/sports tickets, etc.

All of those, already exist as tangible items. If I really wanted them digitally, I could just use, let’s say, the Wallet app on my phone. Why do I need to use an NFT to do that? Plus, me holding the actual, real item in my hands is proof that it’s mine.

How about this? To protect against counterfeiting, real-luxury items will come with an NFT that will be time-stamped with the Metadata from each point in the shipping process. No more knock-off Gucci sunglasses or Yeezy sneakers.

If we can believe in a colonized Mars, or a world of gasoline free cars, or an underground infrastructure for rapid transportation, I’m sure we can convince you that digital, traceable collectibles can have rarity and value.

Well Tulip Bulbs used to go at the price of a house, but now trade a little closer to reality, I’m sure million-dollar rock gifs won’t last long.

I mean, trading cards and collectible children’s toys are still alive and booming. This is essentially the same thing, just with online art. I agree it could be more unique and not CGC, but its innovative that ownership can now be traced and proven, when put on the blockchain.

I mean, but those are real tangible and often are imitating a cartoon that adds a nostalgia factor. Trading cards can be played like board games and again have a nostalgia factor. NFTS, don’t you buy a shitty one worth 100000 only sell it for 50000.

To be far NFTs will demonstrate functionality akin to TCGs very quickly with the advent of the metaverse age.

Probably not, you can’t pay 5 dollars and get a trading card that can be worth 100 dollars The difference between the two is the people who can get a TCG for 25 and look really good and be sentimental.  NFT’s got bought for 1000 and then what you can own with a shitty monkey picture is not worth.

Originally, I was very confused at how anyone could value NFTs. The example of Ready Player One is actually something which had me think about it from a different theoretical perspective.
