The Tezos Commons have been placing a special mention on the surge of interest in NFTs and the potential for opportunities for all sorts of non-traditional humanities. 

One of the NFT advocates had to state that he has been geeking out exploring the various NFT mechanisms being encoded in smart contracts on the Tezos main net to see the growth doubling month on month. 

However, he pointed to how it is vital to look beyond the noise in the NFT press to some of the fundamentals they enable like a peer-to-peer connection between humans about art. He stated that he loved the minimalism of and where it might go.

He further stated that they are to stop dismissing such movements with broad generalisations. The eco cost and technology like Tezos PoS is already vastly optimizing that. One big challenge is that this generation is reducing the inequality gap worldwide — can NFTs help?

He pointed to how at the Tezos Foundation to support the ecosystem to tackle big problems via the Tezos platform.  Those who have a bold idea will want to try.  And, those who need help can reach out via the grants and priorities process.

The key activity of the Tezos Foundation is to deploy resources to entities and initiatives which will help to ensure the long-term success of Tezos. Areas of interest reflect their current needs and these areas are reviewed periodically. Users are invited to propose their projects at any time.

The areas of interest are baking, developer experience, education and training, end-user applications, privacy, security, and others.

Tezos Foundation grants enables a diverse group of organizations and individuals to develop high-quality, open-source applications.

Meanwhile in the call for voting, the 6th protocol proposal for Tezos is already underway. This proposal features improvements to contract operation size, gas optimizations, and more. This proposal will also feature the new ‘adoption cycle’ added from the EDO upgrade.
