Nayib Bukele: El Salvador’s Bitcoin is now worth over $70 million.
Pomp expressed: El Salvador is reportedly going to build 20 new schools with profits from bitcoin.
Community Response: Almost everyone in El Salvador has a mobile phone, even older generations. If they choose not to use, it they can use their current currency.
That would be more interesting if you subtracted their initial cost. Bitcoin, enabling payments for the unbanked and building schools.
This is what I don’t understand about crypto. Because seems like everyone’s end goal is to sell it for real money. Seems like more of a hustle then a currency.
If it has profits from Bitcoin, that means they’re selling their Bitcoin. Is this really what we want, nations speculating on the price and swing trading Bitcoin?
This is huge news. It’s a government, and a government’s duty is to provide services to their people. It does the people no good if they HODL it. They should wait another decade instead of selling bitcoin that’s not a smart move.
Investing in education is always a smart move. “Profits” from Bitcoin just shows they don’t really understand it.
Bitcoin is changing the world in its own way, which is better than the United Nations and some world police.
Bitcoin will change the world faster than any of these world government organizations put together. And in a much more peaceful way.
No, they are building decentralized schools on the blockchain, you can’t actually go to these, but since they are on the blockchain, it proves their originals and not fakes.
El Salvador will soon be one of the wealthiest countries on earth.
They don’t need schools, they need sources of income? They need to know something first to earn. Now, all they need to know is how to use a computer.
Too bad this is not the reality of what’s going on in the rest of the country post-Bitcoin adoption, but crypto people don’t care about that stuff.
It seems the nation does not plan to take profits from its Bitcoin stack to fund the veterinary hospital and the new schools, rather it will continue to use the dollars also held in the fund.”
Hopefully, these schools curriculum include, loving thyself, block chain, personal development, emotional intelligence, financial education (personal finances), networking, public speaking, goal setting, and entrepreneurship.
This is the kind of news that should be on the front page of newspapers, not the FUD surrounding Bitcoin, but the real world good it’s doing and the people benefiting from the decision to use it.
