Anthony Pompliano published: “Dear @ewarren, I am openly inviting you to a debate on bitcoin and cryptocurrencies on “The Best Business Show.” We’ll stream it directly to the American people. You can present your case, and I’ll present ours. DM me if you accept the invitation. Respectfully, Pomp.
CNBC published: Sen. Elizabeth Warren urged Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen to identify and remedy risks posed by cryptocurrencies. Warren also pressed Yellen to use her power as the leader of the Financial Stability Oversight Council to “ensure the safety and stability of consumers and our financial system.” Warren’s letter also came as she and other lawmakers kicked off a hearing called “Cryptocurrencies: What are they good for?”
As cited by Elizabeth Warren, the risks are: Warren cited five risks posed by an under-regulated crypto market. In her words, they are: “Exposure to hedge funds and other investment vehicles that lack transparency. Risks to banks. Unique threats posed by stablecoins. Use in cyber-attacks that can disrupt the financial system—risks from decentralized finance.
Community Assessment of Focus of her Speech: She doesn’t have anything to say. She is only speaking for the banks and anyone else whose best interest is in trying to suppress the adoption of BTC.
She was simply ignorant on the topic and willfully doing so. She claims to be all for the little guy but acts for wall street and the big banks. Just as long as she gets rich, she’s a phony like 99% of politicians.
Community Assessment of the Focus of her Perception: People only understand things from their level of perception within the parameters of their agreement with reality. Save your energy.
Community Perception of the kind of debate it probably can be: If you want a chance to have a senator on, promise a platform for their propaganda. When have you seen them debating without being provided with the questions beforehand and approving only those leading to their point?
Community response: Of Course, crypto is damaging to the current financial infrastructure. You have to tear down the old to make way for the new. Probably better to send this invitation in a professional email instead of Twitter. I think to discuss would have been less inflammatory than debate. Still, I hope she agrees.
She will not debate. Politicians do not believe in anything that they are saying. The days of actually discussing and making your point seem mostly over. The “debates” are just theater now.
She wants people to answer her questions. She makes valid points. Now the crypto community needs to answer.
Both are fiction in this debate. I think it is an excellent opportunity for Elizabeth Warren to bring her case forward against Bitcoin. If building consensus is the goal, this is a perfect opportunity.
They would deny ever getting the email. Bad publicity terrifies politicians. So, a public forum where the likes and RTs – remember, to them, only Americans are on Twitter, so 100% of all tastes are from constituents can draw the most attention, and that is when we got them by the short hairs.
Very curious to listen to an open debate where fact and fiction may go hand in hand.
