There was a recent statement, “Today’s arrests, and the Department’s largest financial seizure ever, show that cryptocurrency is not a safe haven for criminals.”
Brad Garlinghouse in response expressed: “To see a statement like this is incredible (and reaffirming to so many in the space using crypto for good), after years of FUD that crypto is only for criminals.”
Community Response: Crypto is the most traceable currency in the world. This seizure is proof. Every criminal trying to use crypto to launder/hide money should be prosecuted fully, so regular people can use it and stand a half decent chance of not being on social security alone as we age and retire. It’d ease demand on SS and senior services if more can pay our own way.

The USD is the number one currency used for criminal activity and will always be. But it’s a central bank issued currency and will always exist and force people to use it regardless of it being a currency used by criminals.
Agree, we have come a long way but what actually be amazing is if they actually return the funds to the original owners, or are they keeping them? If so, how different are they from the hackers the only difference – it’s they have a badge.
A copy to SEC and his Chairman so next time he address to Congress that crypto is more safe than FIAT and not the other way around.
