Litecoin users have lot of questions to ask Charlie like What other projects are they working on? Partnerships in the pipeline? PayPal – what does it involve? Mass rollout? Does he still own Litecoin? Long term future for Litecoin? 5, 10 year plans?
LTC has a value because people are deciding that it has a value. Also, it’s on all sorts of exchanges and it survived 9 years with 0 downtime. However, the only question that remains in the ecosystem seems to be when moon sir?
Users are willing to know more about MingleJingle the Monero sub-address proposal for Litecoin. On which lightning wallet is supporting Litecoin today? How to crowd source Litecoin Lightning into the Litewallet? Which exchanges will support MWEB on Litecoin?
Several other similar questions on Litecoin has been answered in the Litecoin Q&A with Charlie Lee. However, this was a Clubhouse only invite event.
For clarity, Clubhouse app is a space for casual, drop-in audio conversations. They are currently in private beta. Users are downloading the app to join the waitlist.
For users who were not able to be a part of the Q&A, Alan Austin, LTC Foundation Director has converted a few concepts in a question and answer format.
A = There was too much waiting around for confirmations.
A = Didn’t make too fast due to orphaned blocks, from experience decided 4x faster was a good balance.
A = MWEB testnet is running– possibly later this month there’ll be a user-focused testnet where people can start playing around with peg-in/out.
A = TLDR: I see LTC being fungible + more private. Regarding crypto= expecting there to be ETF’s and some government’s holding crypto’s.
A = TLDR institutions are going to want to diversify their crypto portfolio. LTC is more volatile than BTC but usually performs better in bull markets, also worse in bear markets. LTC is also SoV, because of LTC being fairly launched, Litecoin will not be seen as a security by the SEC. No coins were printed out of “thin air”
A = there may be a Litecoin improvement proposal being made by Cardano folks. “up to the miners.”
A = TLDR litecoin network stats speak for themselves. “zero downtime”, highly liquid, highly supported (paypal), highly secure 99% scrypt dominance.
A = there’s a lot of arbitrage trading with BTC/LTC. a lot of people moving coins between exchanges.
A = No. I don’t think it’s a smart move. IMO PoW is what actually makes this coin secure and decentralized. The future of PoS and its efficiency over the long term is very uncertain.
However, Alan acknowledged stating I’m missing a good chunk of info. Some conversations were a little hard to turn into a tweet format.
